DFGE presents leading RTL thriller THE NEIGHBORS at MIPTV 2015
DFGE returns to MIPTV with THE NEIGHBORS, one of hottest Dutch thriller dramas of this year. Provocative and suspenseful, the series captivated audiences across the country, with an average market share of 30% at prime time on Sunday evenings.
Dutch production powerhouses Pupkin Film and Millstreet Films joined forces with RTL to create this suburban thriller with a sexy twist, based on the bestseller by Saskia Noort. Award-winning Noort is the most popular thriller author in The Netherlands, selling over 2,5 million copies of her books nationally and internationally. Three of her previous books were successfully made into films, and went on to become great box-office hits.
The first season of THE NEIGBORS was received to critical acclaim, gaining heavy press coverage: the series features two of the hottest Dutch acting couples as two neighboring couples who get dangerously entangled.
Other highlights of DFGE’s new slate for MIPTV include FORCE, returning with a vengeance for the second season, the racy and exciting UNDERCOVER featuring award-winning and iconic cast Nilüfer Aydan, Sinan Bengier, Nasrdin Dchar and Meral Polat, and the thrilling Israeli SUICIDE, set in a hellish Jerusalem by hot young director Benny Fredman.
In addition to the new slate, DFGE will also be presenting family and children’s favorites, such as Mr Twister, Dummie the Mummy and Jack’s Wish. The films star some of the industry’s most celebrated children’s characters and exemplify the diversity of DFGE’s rapidly expanding catalogue.
