History

  • The brand SKOOP Media pays tribute to the legendary TV programme SimonSkoop (1975-1989), presented for over thirteen years by iconic Dutch film critic and TV presenter Simon van Collem.

  • SimonSkoop not only instilled a love for cinema in multiple generations of Dutch audiences, but also in Simon’s son Pim van Collem, founder of SKOOP Media.

  • Almost 50 years after the start of SimonSkoop, and 10 years after the foundation of Dutch Features, the new company name SKOOP Media reflects the vast ambitions of the content-driven organization built by Van Collem: to continue creating and distributing quality content for film and TV, to be enjoyed by audiences across the world.

  • During the production of SimonSkoop (1975-1989), Simon van Collem interviewed and befriended numerous legendary actors and directors.

  • He became well-known for his unique interviews with Hollywood icons such as Alfred Hitchcock, Meryl Streep, Billy Wilder, Sam Peckinpah, Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood, Sean Connery, Fritz Lang, Peter Sellers, Peter Ustinov, Steven Spielberg and many others.
